Description
Protect components sensitive to electrostatic discharge
An ESD balancer supports a tool and reduces handling effort at workstations used to assemble, inspect or repair electronic components. Its antistatic design and grounding allow integration into an electrostatic discharge protected area, known as an EPA.
This retracting version returns the suspended tool towards its resting position when any operating lock is released.
Size the load range and working travel
Include the tool, its holder and every suspended component in the total weight. Keep this total within the reference’s rated load range. Choose the working travel needed for the task; a cable-end extension adjusts suspension height without increasing working travel.
Check grounding and electrical continuity of the complete assembly against the operating instructions and the workstation’s ESD control plan. An ESD balancer alone does not make a workstation compliant; ESD design does not establish ATEX suitability.
The housing is aluminium and the cable is stainless steel. Connect grounding at the point specified in the operating instructions and check the mountings before use.
